The vessel was heading to Rotterdam port for discharging her cargo palm oil and checked her IGG just before entering the port as this unit is required in the next loading port. After several trials crew noticed that the unit wasn't operational so requested Ravebo to attend in order to solve this big problem.

Our service engineers attended the vessel after she berthed at Rotterdam and started the trouble shooting straight away.

First of all it was found that 3F12 (no fuse breaker) is tripping and this is happening at 9A current.
The engineer tried to locate this problem by checking the DC power loop impedance, but noticed that this wasn't the solution.
Then he checked current by splitting the power loop and narrowed it down to DO X33 digital output module. After this the service engineer removed all relay outputs and found the problem in the solenoid valve of blower one outlet valve. The wiring inside the connector housing had shorted through the, as we discovered, damaged wire insulation. The wires were squeezed into the housing and after a certain period the insulation had worn away, causing she short circuit.

After this, tried to start the IGG but unfortunately nothing happened so the problem was probably also somewhere else. One of the engineers checked the input conditions and found all were in good condition. The PLC was showing error and this could be the problem of not starting. Then they discovered the selector switch was still set at local. After changing the switch to AUTO the IGG started up.

The IGG was now running but then the oxygen analyzer flow failure came up. We found the problem in the analysers’ electro switch as the valve was blocked. Passed by this valve and the IGG was in a good operational mode again.
