We were recently requested by Lomar Shipping to attend the M.T. “AUTEUIL” to carry out the annual certification of various instruments and safety equipment whilst she was berthed in Antwerp during the weekend. Lomar Shipping is a subsidiary of the Libra Group. Since 2009, Lomar have acquired 76 vessels with orders for 20 newbuildings. The fleet covers bulk carriers, container ships, LPG, Chemical and Product Tankers.
The tanker “AUTEUIL” is a liquid gas tanker built in Japan on the Kitanihon shipyard in 1995. With a capacity of 3,500m3, the Auteuil is suitable to carry Butane, Propane, Butdiene, Propene and Vinyl chloride monomer.
From their Headquarters in London, we were requested to carry out the annual certification of the Temperature/Pressure calibrators, UTI’s, the portable and fixed gas detection systems, Fire extinguishers, fixed CO2 syetems, Breathing apparatus and ODME system.
Upon berthing we had just 16 hours to carry out the above work so that the vessel could sail as scheduled. By mobilizing a team of 7 engineers (5 on board and 2 in our workshop ), we arranged the collection of the equipment that could be in our workshop while our mobile team carried out the remaining work on board.
Having completed all the work on time the vessel was able to sail as scheduled at 06.00 on the Sunday morning.
